The existing Queensland Cottage came with heritage overlay restrictions, requiring the front facade to be carefully maintained and restored. The challenge was raising and shifting the entire cottage to make way for a stunning modern extension.
From the street, the home maintains its heritage character, but step inside and you're met with a dramatic transformation. Past the restored cottage, soaring modern voids open up above, with skylights flooding the kitchen and living spaces with natural light.
The design balances soft finishes with bold natural stonework, creating a sophisticated palette that honours the heritage front while delivering contemporary family living.
